So what is CarCom?

The CarCom vehicle security and passenger safety system incorporates up-to-date in-vehicle technology combining the use of the mobile phone network and satellite tracking systems to monitor your vehicle's alarm status. In addition, if you or your passengers' safety is at risk, CarCom can also assist you with immediate emergency assistance.

The CarCom system comprises two main items:

A button pad, awarded an Australian Innovation Patent, which is your connection to the CarCom services and;
The In-Vehicle Unit (IVU) which is fitted out of sight in your vehicle and monitors your vehicle's alarm system.

CarCom is different to most other telematics products on the market as CarCom has the ability to simultaneously establish a phone call and send data communications anywhere within the GSM carrier network. This means you can speak to an Operator if you need emergency assistance or a connection to your Roadside Assistance Provider and at the same time they will instantly receive your vehicle's location so that you don't have to tell them.
