Overview
The CarCom system utilises satellite positioning (GPS) and mobile phone technology (GSM) to pinpoint and track your vehicle's location.
If you activate the system by pressing one of the buttons, or your vehicle's alarm is activated, the satellite system works by sending a vehicle location message to the CarCom Assistance Centre where your vehicle's position is displayed on a digital map. This information can then be relayed to Emergency Services or Roadside Assistance providers. In addition to communicating vehicle location details, the mobile phone network is used to provide voice communication between the vehicle driver and the CarCom Assistance Centre, and if necessary the Emergency Services.
